Hi Gang,
Been doing a lot of driving so haven’t been in one spot really long enough to have a chance to blog. By the time I get done, I am pooped and I hit the sheets.
Had a fun couple of days. I went to this place called, “Fire Island” with a friend of mine. The plan was to go bar hopping and check out the beach. The weather was beautiful, but they weren’t open yet for the season, so we managed to grab a sandwhich at the store (the only place open) and work our way through this amazing walkway. It was like a maze and was really interesting with plant life and various style houses. Got to the beach and there wasn’t a soul in sight. There was an occasional life guard in his car driving by and one person walked by.
Getting back to their little town was fun. Lots of deadends, but it was fun discovering all these different little areas. We finally made it back and caught the ferry back to the mainland. There was a bar open there, so we had a few drinks.
Next stop was Stamford. we left just in time for Friday rush hour traffic so you can imagine that it took forever to get there. He checked me into a really cool hotel that was more like an apartment. We didn’t waste anytime and went straight to dinner.;
French food was the choice and it was really great. We sat outside and it was entertaining with all the people cruising by. The food was great. I was all fueled up and ready to go for our oil wrestling extravaganza.
He had a giant tarp to put on the bed and a big bottle of baby oil. We “slipped and slided” all over the place. It was really fun, but the oil, alas, is still in my hair. It takes a few days of washing to really get it out and when you have as much hair as me, unfortunately, that is the price you have to pay.
It was a super fun time hanging out with him and ending it with wrestling.
The next day, my friend, Shane, came over to pick me up. Since it was early, we walked over to find some breakfast. The funny thing about a business town, is that nothing is really open on the weekend, or at least not that early. We did find a cafe and we ordered a couple of wraps. Unfortunately, they were out of the tortillas so it was more of just the filling without the wrap, but I didn’t mind. Healthier that way.
We then drove to Canton, where he lives, and had some lunch and watches some movies. I didn’t get a chance to see “The Wrestler” but he had it in his collection. What a great movie!!! If you haven’t seen it, you have to rent it. It was awesome!!!
Since we are both horror buffs, we also watched, “The Midnight Meat Train”. Really great gore in it. There was some good stuff where you had to turn away.
I will be leaving tomorrow and am looking forward to some downtime, except, my downtime is getting my butt kicked by my trainer at the gym and I have projects that I have to edit.
Lots of stuff coming up. I also have to see my doctor after I get off the plane. My back is a bit messed up. I am not sure if it was all the driving or what, but definitely feels a bit out of wack. That is what pain killers are for, right? lol
Well, have to get back to my friend but wanted to catch up and throw out another blog your way!
Enjoy your day!
Thanks for stopping by and reading my blog! I really appreciate it!
xoxo
Tomiko
